Compact Framework Beta - CLOSED

Just a quick note to let folks know the beta is full! The response has blown me away and it now has more than enough people to beta test this little add in.

I'll post some new screenshots and perhaps a video or two when I get a chance.

Release Candidate available for JED, QC - QualityCentral Win32 client

A Release Candidate for JED, QC is now available.

If you downloaded an earlier version make sure you check out the updated version. Numerous (thousands of) changes have occurred since the last official release.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the guys that were willing to beta test this release for me. Some testers even received multiple builds in a quick succession trying to iron out bugs. Without them what I am releasing today would never have happened. I thank them for their efforts and also for the motivation they gave me to getting this far.

Thanks guys (I won't embarrass anyone by naming names).

You can download the release candidate from my website at

Be sure to check out the Help file. Not everything is documented but it is a work in progress and we all know how much fun it is writing help.

Comments, suggestions and bug reports (yeah there are still a couple) are most welcome. Email address available from the website or within the documentation in the download.

PS: Something I forgot to mention in the readme is that if you run with the US English translations please let me know if I have missed any translations. Thanks.

Strange Gallery Items in your Delphi 2005 Installation?

I was looking through the Gallery items in Delphi 2005 tonight and I discovered a couple of new items. Does anyone else have these items also?

Translation Manager Alignment Fix

Not sure if someone has already posted a fix for this because I only recently discovered the bug.

Report No: 12889 ( RAID: 225563 ) Status: Open
Translation Manager does not resize to fill the window area

I have uploaded and IDE Add-In that adds a menu item. When you select this menu item and the Translation Editor is opened it will fix the alignment bug.

Full source is included for the fix.

(sorry there is no information on my website about the fix yet).

Accelerator Keys not working for your TActionMainMenuBar?

JED, QC has had a long standing bug in it (not sure if it is in the released Alpha) where you couldn't select the menu using accelerator keys. Pressing ALT would highlight the menu correctly, but pressing ALT+F wouldn't display the File menu.

Well the good news is that I finally got around to looking into this problem last night. I can claim this one was all my fault but I'm not sure I want to accept 100% responsibility for it! Seems that at one stage I set the TActionMainMenuBar CaptionOptions property to coNone. Which really doesn't make sense for a TActionMainMenuBar. Interestingly, this option obviously isn't honoured as the menu items show their captions, just the accelerator checking code isn't so forgiving!

Glad to say it's fixed now and I almost fell out of my chair when I saw how easy it was to rectify - I thought it was going to be a nightmare problem to track down!

JED, QC - Missing in action?

You might have noticed that this blog really hasn't had a lot of information regarding JED, QC - my Borland QualityCentral client.

Rest assured, that is about to change "Real soon now".
